Nancy's Obituary

On Saturday, November 30, 2019, Nancy Jane Carlson, loving mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully at the age of 82. Nancy was born on November 21, 1937 in Rochester, NH the oldest of 9 children born to Bernard and Lorraine Lachance. Nancy graduated from Spaulding High School in 1956, and worked as an Administrative Professional for many companies including Playboy, Illinois State Attorney General, Ducks Unlimited, and Fuji America.

Nancy excelled at numerous hobbies. She enjoyed down-hill skiing, yachting, and spending time at the beach. She was an accomplished cook. Her cakes, cookies, and pies were all highly praised by anyone who tasted them! She turned her love of sewing, knitting, needlepoint, and embroidery into a small business by selling her "Handmade By Granny Nanny" items for adults, children, pets, and dolls at craft fairs and on her Etsy and Ebay stores. She loved reading, movies, theatre, going to garage sales, collecting dolls, and could beat almost anyone when challenged to a game of Scrabble or Trivia Pursuit. She was an avid music lover and could play the organ, auto-harp, and guitar. She would frequently annoy her daughters, and later her grandchildren, by blasting her music throughout her house. She enjoyed all kinds of music, but had a special place in her heart for Elvis. She was known for her creativity, incredible memory, and compassionate spirit. Above all Nancy adored her children and grandchildren, and her Chihuahuas Chi-Chi and Binky.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Barbara (Ferris), Carol (Berkley), brother Richey, and son, David Wiza. She is survived by her children Marilee (Ryan Rusiniak), Melissa, grandchildren Kiefer, Marissa, and Makenna (Wald), brothers Paul, Neil, Marc, and BJ, and sister Rose, and many nieces, nephews, and their children.
